Most people don't think much of using a free script, but if it's good you can make it the foundation of a great site.
Don't they have backdoors in them ?

I don't think the one that I use does. I don't really worry about that. Any site that did that would not be around very long after people found out about it...

I should probably try using the free script.

But the major drawback for me is that I am not a programmer, so uploading the script and installing it would be a big problem. I will try getting someone and if some problem arises, will get back here.

Default Do You park of develop

Hi,
I tried parking some of my domains on Sedo. That generated some income I think because all of the links in the list of links produce revenue for you. The site may be ugly but if someone if someone is looking for a directory of information you are set.

I tried WhyPark. Their story is why split the income with the company parking your domain when you can have 100%. They also promise fresh relevant content daily. What they didn't say is the fresh relevant content is made up of short - 1-5 paragraph articles that end in a pitch and link for someone else's product. So outside of your Adsense Ads 98% of your site is devoted to taking your visitors someplace else. My income actually dropped when I moved to Whypark.

When you set up a domain at Whypark there is a lot of data entry - entering keywords, catagories, etc. You can do customization to add affiliate programs etc. And in the end it's on their server so if your decide to move your work is lost in the sense that it is not a cohesive web page that you can save and then just upload to your new host.

There are plenty of free or low cost templates available that make setting up your own web site almost as easy as setting up a WhyPark domain. In fact one of the products sold by Dan and Just Dropped is a great basic web site with relevant content for under $100. Go to CapeCodBeaches.info to see the job he did for me. Looks great.

Now your job is the same in either case. You've got to get traffic there through SEO, list building, etc. But it would be the same in either case. I haven't found the parking services or Whypark to do any of that work - you do it yourself as the other poster said.

Now the difference is that when you go to sell your domain it is a "developed website" and if you've done the work right you've enhanced the value with links and traffic.

I've developed a few sites along these lines. But have found I have more projects in mind than time to do them so I've started to sell some at Seed Pod Media » Why Seed Pod Media? Take a look and tell me what you think.

My thoughts anyway of the park vs develop question. It's also the way that a lot of the big guys are going.

All the best,
Ted Sudol

PS I knew you were going to ask about hosting. Whypark charges $100 per 100 domains. The hosting company I use lets me put an unlimited amount of domains in my space. No bogus "setup charges" So far I think I have about 60 sites set up and it only takes up about 10% of my allotted space - the cost? $97 a year
