Currently the biggest trend that I see occurring is the use of social networking to connect and build relationships.
Some of the programs that I am currently involved with include

BlogCatalog
Facebook is something that I have not touched as of yet. I am more of a fan and am currently keeping an eye on it.
Regardless I see the ability to reach a large amount of people in a short period of time if your message is taken in by the community.
